It is vital to provide & nurture safe spaces for the menfolk & boys in our lives to safely express themselves in a way that is healthy & productive to their personal, mental & emotional growth to counter the echo chambers they may find themselves in where toxic masculinity thrives & festers into wider society. With Western media propaganda, social media & the rise in fascist riots we’ve recently seen & experienced in the UK as well as the continued dehumanization of men from the Global Majority across the world, from Sudan to The DRC to Palestine & beyond, now is the time for us to speak up & destigmatize the narrative around these topics through art & conversation. You are invited to a beautiful wholesome evening of live music & spoken word poetry from some of the finest voices in Birmingham & the West Midlands to commemorate & honor the lives of those we have lost to Mental Health & have the conversations we need to be having.Kohetry is a bi-monthly event to nurture & build bridges between marginalized & interfaith communities, an inclusive safe space for everyone from every walk of life, family-friendly & all-around wholesome vibes of creativity, art & community. We will be hosted by @the__gap at The Old Print Works venue in Moseley. 🎟🎟 Tickets out now. (Please note, Kohetry relies solely on ticket sales to ensure the running of events & to pay our headliners. Everyone attending must purchase tickets to attend our events, this includes open mic performers (under 16s free with a paying adult)More announcements soon!
