The EventThis event reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing, promoting, and serving the Diaspora community across the United Kingdom. Our Legacy and MissionSince our establishment in 1990 as The Institute of Jamaican Nationals, we have been a vital conduit of communication and support among our members, government agencies, and NGOs both locally and globally. Our enduring mission is to foster unity and create a supportive environment for our young people and both residents and returnees, strengthening the bonds within our community.Event DetailsWe are delighted to announce the return of our Annual Gala, set for October 11th, 2025, at the prestigious Lower Grounds (formerly The Holte Suite) at Aston Villa FC. This evening is designed not only to honour the remarkable contributions of Jamaicans to the UK’s societal fabric but also to deepen our collective historical insight and cultural unity.Highlights of the Gala• Celebrating National Heroes:We will proudly honour our National Heroes in conjunction with Jamaican National Heritage Week and Black History Month. This year, a special tribute will be paid to one of our esteemed national heroes, Marcus Mosiah Garvey Jr. ONH, who was posthumously pardoned on January 26th, 2025. His legacy, defined by over a century of advocacy—a struggle initiated by his wife, Amy Jacques, his family, and fellow activists against his wrongful imprisonment in 1923—remains a profound symbol of resilience and justice.• Honouring Local Heroes:We will recognize individuals whose significant contributions have propelled community advancement and enriched our social landscape.• Inspiring Youth:The ‘Be Inspired Youth Award’ will spotlight young trailblazers who have positively impacted their communities and set inspiring examples for their peers.• An Evening to Educate, Inspire, and Entertain:Experience a captivating rum punch reception, a lavish four-course meal, and thought-provoking talks from our international speaker. The night will crescendo with an awards presentation and a dance floor set alight by the vibrant rhythms of Caribbean music—an exceptional networking opportunity for approximately 500 community leaders, business owners, and influencers. We eagerly anticipate your presence at this magnificent event. Together, we will celebrate the achievements and enduring spirit of our community, with your invaluable support playing a crucial role in the success of our gala and ongoing initiatives.
