As a cherished pillar in the community, our charity remains steadfast in its mission to enhance, promote, and serve the Diaspora community across the United Kingdom.Since our inception in 1990, initially as The Institute of Jamaican Nationals, we have played a pivotal role in fostering communication and support among our members, government entities, and NGOs, both locally and globally. We are dedicated to the welfare of both residents and returnees, aiming to build a unified and supportive environment.We are excited to announce the return of our Annual Local Heroes and Be Inspired Youth Gala and Awards Ceremony, set to take place at the distinguished Holte Suite, Aston Villa FC, on October 12th, 2024. This event is a cornerstone in promoting unity and providing historical insights, celebrating the exceptional contributions of Jamaicans to the UK's societal fabric.The gala aims to:1. Honour our National Heroes, celebrate Jamaican National Heritage Week and Black History Month.2. Honour individuals who have significantly contributed to community advancement as Local Heroes.3. Recognise the youth with the 'Be Inspired Youth Award' for their positive impact.4. To raise vital funds to support our operations and our nominated charities. Prepare for an enchanting evening featuring a rum punch reception, a lavish four-course meal, inspirational talks from our international speaker, and mesmerising entertainment. The night will culminate with an awards presentation and a dance, set to the rhythm of Caribbean music.
